About us

Who we are

We are the RSPCA Finchley, Golders Green, Hendon & District Branch, an independent charity operating under the RSPCA umbrella.

Our focus is simple: to deliver practical, high-quality animal welfare support within our community  from rescue and rehabilitation to structured Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) programmes and responsible rehoming.

As a small but active branch, we operate through a combination of dedicated staff, volunteers and trustees, working together to ensure that resources are used effectively and that welfare decisions are made responsibly and transparently.

We are currently in a phase of strengthening our governance, operations and long-term sustainability,  bringing greater structure, consistency and impact to everything we do.

Our culture and values

We are a values-led organisation with a strong focus on accountability, structure and delivery.

Our work is grounded in:

  • Animal welfare first – decisions are made in the best interest of the animal, not convenience
  • Responsibility and integrity – we operate within clear governance and ethical frameworks
  • Practical delivery – we prioritise outcomes, not just intentions
  • Collaboration – working closely with vets, volunteers and the local community
  • Respect for time and capacity – we recognise the realities of a volunteer-supported environment and plan accordingly

We are not a rescue centre operating reactively — we are building a coordinated, sustainable model of welfare delivery

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

We are committed to creating an inclusive and respectful environment for our staff, volunteers and the communities we serve.

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and aim to ensure that opportunities to contribute to animal welfare are accessible, fair and based on merit.

We recognise that diversity strengthens decision-making and helps us better understand and support the communities and animals we serve.

All appointments are made based on skills, experience and alignment with our values, and we are committed to maintaining a culture where everyone feels respected and able to contribute.
