About us
Who we are
What to expect
We're a small team, making a huge difference to the lives of people in Sheffield. We provide extra funding to Sheffield hospitals to support patients, hospital staff and life-changing medical research, so people across the city get the healthcare they deserve.
Sheffield Hospitals Charity is at a pivotal moment. We have a new CEO, and are developing a strategy which aims to raise our profile, diversify our income portfolio, and be more strategic as a grant-maker so that we can fund more projects that deliver real impact for healthcare for the people of Sheffield.
Right now, we’re a team of 14, but that is set to grow over the coming 12 months.
Our culture
As we grow our team to take on new challenges as an organisation, we’re looking for positive, ambitious and creative team members who are excited about our vision and making a difference to healthcare across Sheffield.
We are looking for staff from all sections of our diverse community, where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic selves to work. This is irrespective of age, disability, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, maternity, race (which includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins), sexual orientation, religion or belief. We’re keen to invest in our employees, supporting them to grow and develop in their roles with us.

Our culture and values
1. We’re the best together
We work collaboratively with our beneficiary Trusts and other organisations to have the greatest impact for the people of Sheffield. We help our supporters and volunteers to give back to the NHS in ways that suit them. We employ talented people and encourage each other to be the best we can be.
2. We go the extra mile
Whether you’re a patient, NHS staff, supporter or employee, we strive to make people feel uplifted. Our funding is always above and beyond what the NHS can provide, and we ask, ‘How can we fund the best outcomes in this area?’. We go the extra mile for each other, our beneficiaries and our supporters, and ask, ‘How can we help?’. As a team, we celebrate our successes and work hard to improve and innovate.
3. We look to the future
We help build a brighter future for the NHS in Sheffield. When funding, we ask, ‘How will this help our Trusts now and in the future?’. As a charity, we aim to be financially and environmentally sustainable. When investing in our charity, we ask, ‘Does this help build a sustainable organisation and a happy, productive team?’.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds especially from ethnically diverse, LGBTQ+ and disabled communities as well as those with lived experiences of tackling inequalities, as we believe diverse voices are instrumental in creating transformational change
