About us

Who we are

Spires has a proud history of supporting those most in need and developed out of a grassroots movement to provide a space for homeless people to come for community, food and support. Spires has developed over the years and in recent years this development has been rapid with an increased focus on casework, outcomes and multi-site working.

Despite this development, Spires maintains its connection to its founding principles and all Spires services are easy to access, welcoming and flexible.

Our culture and values

Spires’ Values are:

Hopeful: Believing that all people are capable of making improvements in their lives.

Welcoming: Providing non-judgemental spaces that can be easily accessed.

Professional: A Spires approach: trained staff, clear processes, continuous improvement, quality reviews, inductions, supportive team culture

Creative: Persevering with new ways of working to support those who are hardest to reach.

Collaborative: Knowing that we cannot work is isolation and that effective support comes through collaboration. This is collaboration between the spires team members, between the team and the clients and ensuring that we are not working in isolation from other teams.

These values underpin the strengths of Spires as an organisation. They also provide a framework for how we make decisions about the services we deliver and how we review the quality of our services.
