About us
Who we are
We provide a foundation for the next generation, preparing them for a world of bright opportunities.
St Leonards has been at the forefront of education in Scotland – and the United Kingdom – since its foundation in 1877. Co-educational since 1999, St Leonards continues to inspire young people to adopt a global outlook, challenge themselves, ask questions, and care about the people and planet around them.
As we look forward to celebrating our 150th anniversary in 2027, we remain focused on our fundamental purpose: to educate young people for life. This is reflected in St Leonards being named Scottish Independent Secondary School of the Year for Academic Excellence (IB/A-levels/GCSEs) in The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2026.
This award highlights the outstanding performance of our pupils, the commitment of our staff, the dedication of our Board of Governors, and the invaluable support of our parents. At St Leonards, we are proud to foster a culture where academic ambition, personal growth, and leadership thrive together.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
