St Richard's Church, Ham

Who we are

St Richard’s is a local Anglican church for local people. It is situated in the heart of Ham and forms the focal point of a neighbourhood centre, St Richard’s Square, and sits alongside St Richard’s Church of England Primary School with which it has a strong working relationship.

We were delighted to be awarded £248,000 by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop our £3.6m heritage project 'St Richard's 60:60 - celebrating our first 60 years and preparing for the next'. Our goal is to give our church a secure and sustainable future as a home for a thriving church and a welcoming space for community groups and activities. It is a modern church opened in 1966 which has recently been listed Grade II and is on the Heritage at Risk Register.

That means our mission in Ham riverside is to:

• Share the good news of God’s love in Jesus with all.

• Help people to find faith in Jesus and grow in that faith.

• Welcome and serve those around us in need, especially through partnerships with our school, Riverbank Trust and other local community groups.

• Work to change our society and our world through partnerships with other local churches and our mission partners.

• Play our part in caring for our environment and our planet.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

At St Richard's we take the safeguarding and care of the children and vulnerable adults who attend our church and use our premises very seriously. We have adopted and follow the policies and practices of the national Church of England's 'A Safer Church' and regularly review our practice.  We would require all consultants employed by the PCC to follow these policies.
