Our culture and values
Presence
We value being present with Jesus in prayer and worship, present to ourselves in honesty and vulnerability, present with one another in genuine relationship, and present in the world around us. Like Mary sitting at Jesus' feet, we believe transformation happens when we remain in Christ’s presence and allow the Holy Spirit to do far more than we could ask or imagine. Rather than relying on ourselves, we depend fully on God and create space to encounter the transforming power of the living Christ.
Openness
We value openness to the presence of God, who transforms minds with truth, hearts with healing, and lives through new creation. Following Jesus’ example of welcoming tax collectors and sinners, we keep our hearts, our church, and our doors open to all whom God brings. We embrace the freedom of the Holy Spirit to work in unexpected ways and remain willing to be shaped and changed by the One who makes all things new.
Hospitality
We value radical hospitality rooted in Jesus’ story of the Father who watches, runs to embrace, and celebrates the return of his son. Like Christ, who showed compassion to both crowds and individuals, we seek to create a church where people feel they have come home—marked by welcome, friendship, forgiveness, and joy, with God at the centre. We invite people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus, in whom we find true healing.
Depth
We value developing deep roots in our relationship with Jesus through worship, prayer, and Scripture, knowing that real transformation comes from focusing on him. Like the tree planted by streams of water in Psalm 1, we seek to be deeply grounded in the good news of Jesus Christ so that we can endure difficulties and bear lasting fruit. We cultivate depth within the church through authentic relationships and within the city through faithful presence and service.
Ambition
We value holy ambition for God's kingdom, following Jesus, who came to seek and save the lost and to make all things new. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we take the gospel beyond the walls of the church so that communities can be transformed—bringing hope where there is despair and reconciliation where there is conflict. We believe God can do far more than we ask or imagine, and we live with great expectation for all that Jesus will accomplish in us, through us, and beyond us.
