Who we are
Based in Southampton, we conserve, maintain and operate the historic ship, Steamship Shieldhall, for people of all ages, to enjoy and experience steam power at sea and alongside. SS Shieldhall is one of the few sea-going, passenger‑carrying steamships left in the world and unlike most heritage vessels, she is still fully operational. She sails, she teaches, she earns, she trains, she changes lives.
Steamship Shieldhall Charity is a membership organisation with an international membership in excess of 800. All activity is delivered by a core volunteer team of 60–80.
