About us
Who we are
Could you join the Stonewall Housing team? We're on the lookout for brilliant, dynamic individuals who will help us ensure more LGBTQ+ people in the UK live in safe homes.
Stonewall Housing helps LGBTQ+ people in the UK who are experiencing homelessness or living in an unsafe environment. We provide safe accommodation, housing advice, mental health advocacy and support for people fleeing or who have fled domestic abuse. All of our services are free and confidential. Founded in 1983, we're the only charity in the UK working with homeless LGBTQ+ people of all ages.
We're both a Community Benefit Society and Charitable Foundation. Our company number is IP24277R and our charity number is 1187437.
We support approximately 3200 LGBTQ+ people a year into safer homes.
Estimates illustrate over 70,000 people need Stonewall Housing’s help. We're on a mission to raise our profile across the UK, grow our team, and reach more people sleeping rough or living in unsafe or volatile environments. Could you join us?
Our culture and values
Stonewall Housing is grounded in grassroots activism,
anti-discrimination, inclusion and equality. Everything we
do is about making sure LGBTQ+ people are afforded their
basic human right to be housed in safe accommodation
where they can live authentically and free from fear.
This organisation was founded in 1983 by a group of Housing
Workers who could see the inequalities their LGBTQ+
communities were facing and they were determined to do
something about it. Our work today continues their legacy
to build a better, more inclusive world.
