About us
Who we are
The Tanera Project is a charitable restoration and regeneration effort in the Northwest Highlands, centred on Tanera Mòr, the largest of the Summer Isles, expanding across to the adjacent mainland.
Our culture and values
Our Work
On Tanera, we work to meet three main objectives: restore our spaces, build resilience, and regenerate the land we come from. Our passionate work in service of these objectives is highly interconnected, with each stream of work benefiting the other.
Our Impact
On Tanera, restoration and environmental regeneration are catalysts for action, creativity, opportunity - and for encouraging human resilience. By honouring the heritage of our communities while painting a future which is in harmony with nature, we are making a place where people may return to themselves through the rhythms of work and the natural world.
Our Communities
Tanera catalyses communities. From our neighbours in Coigach, Assynt and around Loch Broom, to our Romanian construction team, and those restoring traditional boats, working the sea, protecting the land, or supporting public service workers; each plays a part in reimagining this place. Together, we’re building a space where people, place, and nature can thrive together - and benefit each other.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are committed to being an inclusive employer with a diverse and representative workforce. We encourage applications from people from the widest possible range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
