About us
Who we are
Supported Community Business (SCB) is a Crewe-based charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. Through practical, work-based activities in a safe, inclusive setting, we help individuals develop confidence, gain real-world skills, and build independence. Our day service model blends structured support with meaningful engagement, giving people a sense of purpose, belonging, and achievement in everyday life.
Our culture and values
At SCB, we champion ability over disability. Our GROW values shape everything we do:
-
G – Growth: Supporting individuals to develop confidence, skills, friendships and independence.
-
R – Respect & Inclusion: Treating everyone with dignity and empathy, and embracing individuality.
-
O – Opportunity: Offering meaningful activities that empower and make a real difference.
-
W – Working Together: Collaborating with families, carers, and the community to provide trusted support.
Our culture is positive, person-centred, and grounded in creating a space where everyone is seen, heard and supported to thrive.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
SCB is committed to promoting fairness, respect and equal opportunities across all areas of employment. We actively oppose discrimination on the basis of age, disability, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any protected characteristic. Recruitment and progression are based on merit, with practices in place to ensure accessibility, transparency, and inclusion for all. We also encourage open conversations around disability and adjustments, ensuring everyone can thrive at work.
