About us
Who we are
Just a reminder that at Taylor Sports and Wellbeing, we do not just offer our Sunday fun football sessions we also excel in integrating sports and mental health to provide therapy and personalised interventions. Our skilled professional with extensive knowledge and qualifications ensures top-quality support for your child's sport, sport wellbeing or mental health wellbeing journey.
I am a fully DBS-checked and approved, British Psychological Society-accredited (AMBPSS) Children's Wellbeing Practitioner. This qualification was gained whilst studying at University College London and working at Chums CIC as a trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner.
Having left Chums in January 2025, I have worked within the NHS, Mental Health Support Team in Bedford. Within both roles, I have conducted both group interventions and 1-2-1 interventions for children and young people ( aged 5-17) and their parents. I am currently a PE teacher at a local SEND school in Bedford.
In addition to this, I have a degree in Applied Sports and Physical Education from the University of Bedfordshire. Furthermore, I hold a valid Football Association Level 2 (UEFA C) football badge. I have extensive coaching knowledge, having started coaching in 2017 for Biggleswade United Under 21s team, Milton Keynes Dons within their SET provision and pre-academy.
These sessions were tailored to get the best out of the players to give them the edge, come game-time on the weekends.
Additionally, I have coached four years for ex-professional footballer, Leon Barnett. These sessions were tailored for those children who enjoyed football and wanted to attend during school half terms.
I have recently been a coach for Kempston Rovers under-11 girls Lionesses, this was a voluntary role season 2024/2025.
What to expect
Within the sports and wellbeing sessions, we will be working on some positive self-talk, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which includes techniques and strategies for young sports people and honing in on skills they feel less confident about. These sessions will be conducted for an hour and a half at a local sports field (TBC) to enable time to work on both aspects of the session.
The wellbeing sessions comprise of all things CBT and bringing in that positive change for a child or young person's life. These sessions will be conducted for an hour via Microsoft Teams.
The sports skills sessions are just that, working on specific skills the young athlete believes they need to work on, or what their club and team coach feel would be beneficial for them to work on. These sessions will be conducted for an hour at a local sports field.
Sessions will only commence after the therapy contract and questionnaires are completed by a parent or guardian.
If any of this is of interest to you and your child or children please do not hesitate to contact me via the email address in the posters.
