About us

Who we are

We are here for everyone affected by cancer

We offer information, advice and specialist support to everyone who needs it.

Together with our inspiring community of supporters, volunteers and fundraisers, we are proud to give help, hope and a voice to people affected by cancer. We listen to the real experiences of people within our communities to drive changes that make a real difference.

Our culture and values

Our culture

A sense of community and looking after people has always been at the heart of our story. So, we don’t just feel proud and privileged to be able to make a real difference for people affected by cancer. The feeling you get with us is that we’re a really friendly and inclusive bunch of people who support each other in positive ways to do well too.

We work really hard every day and we love what we do. And, we also like to get together and have fun as well. We feel like being one of us is to be part of a ‘family’ we care about. We’re people who share the same values, we’re there for each other and we like being together.

Our values

We’re not one of those organisations whose values just exist on a bit of paper. We live our values every day and they’re integral to who we are and how we work.

Integrity

We aim to do the right thing by being honest, respectful and trustworthy

Supportive

We help and encourage each other so we can be there for those who need us

Inclusive

We create a welcoming environment where everyone feels respected and has a voice

Innovative

We explore new ideas and create ways to deliver for today and tomorrow

Collaborative

We work together to make a difference

Our values are really important to our staff. Our people are proud to live out our values through their motivation and passion for being part of things here:

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Our aim is to give help, hope, and a voice to everyone affected by cancer. We are committed to reflecting and representing the communities we serve in everything we do.

We want Tenovus Cancer Care to be an inclusive organisation where everyone feels welcome and free to be themselves, whether you're affected by cancer, a volunteer, supporter, or staff member. We are a Disability Confident Employer and have a Cultural Competence Action Plan to implement good workplace practice to make sure our services are fair and equitable for everyone. This includes all individuals and groups protected from discrimination under the Equality Act 2010. Our work has the full backing of the charity’s Leadership Team.

We’re proud our activity has been recognised by being awarded a gold attainment level for Diverse Cymru’s Cultural Competence Certification Scheme.

It’s vital we continue to listen to and better understand the experiences of everyone affected by cancer to drive the changes that make a real difference. We will take the opportunity to do so through our All-Wales Cancer Community and community engagement work.

We know there is always more we can do when it comes to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we will continue to listen, learn, and progress.
