The Braunstone Foundation t/as b-inspired

Who we are

The Braunstone Foundation (trading as b-inspired) is based in Braunstone, an inner- city estate with high levels of deprivation. we work closely with local service providers, statutory organisations and the community to facilitate a Neighbourhood Infrastructure, delivering services rooted in the community. 

Our charity established in 2010 (The Braunstone Foundation, t/a b inspired), to carry forward the ground-breaking work and legacy created by the Braunstone Community Association (BCA), originally set-up in 2000. 

The BCA was created as a vehicle to deliver a large-scale government regeneration programme – New Deal for Communities (NDC). Much was achieved in the 10 years of the NDC programme, with over 100 projects funded to support local residents to tackle issues such as: crime, housing problems, educational attainment, health inequalities, improving the environment and engaging more people in activities to improve their day-to-day lives. 

The regeneration programme also supported the creation of many new and improved local facilities, many of which b inspired continue to own and manage to this day

Our culture and values

b inspired is a neighbourhood-based charity in Braunstone, Leicester. Our mission is… 

“To be the Community Anchor and champion for Braunstone, now and in the future, able to support our neighbourhood and its citizens to reach full potential by harnessing its strengths and responding to its needs. By making a difference!” 

We provide a wide range of services across Braunstone including: a Foodshare Scheme (Foodbank and Food Pantry), Befriending for individuals, Social Groups, training, volunteering, access to welfare, debt and energy advice and projects to support mental health. We also operate a number of local buildings including The Grove Community Hub and our Neighbourhood Support Base on Gallards Hill
