The Friends of Abingdon Abbey Buildings Trust

Who we are

The Friends of Abingdon Abbey Buildings Trust is the charity responsible for the care and management of Abingdon’s historic Abbey Buildings – nationally important Grade I listed medieval buildings at the heart of the town.

We are currently delivering a major National Lottery Heritage Fund-supported Enhancement Project to conserve and enhance the Buildings, improve access and facilities, and enable them to be used throughout the year. Alongside the building works, we are developing an ambitious programme of activities and strengthening relationships with local people, schools and community organisations.

Our culture and values

We are a small organisation with a collaborative and practical approach. We value different perspectives and ideas, and want the Abbey Buildings to be a welcoming place where people from across the community can participate, contribute and feel a sense of connection and ownership.

Our team includes staff, Trustees, volunteers, freelancers and project partners, so working openly and constructively with others is central to how we work.
