About us

Who we are

The Great Friendship Project is a London-based non-profit on a mission to tackle loneliness by helping young adults build meaningful new connections.

Through bold campaigns, original research, and inclusive community events, we create real-world opportunities for friendship and challenge the stigma that surrounds loneliness.

We launched in 2021 after recognising a growing paradox: in an age of hyper-connectivity, loneliness rates are skyrocketing, and even fewer feel able to talk about it.

That’s where we come in - we create unforgettable shared experiences, shift the national conversation on loneliness, and work with partners to drive lasting social change.

Since launching, we’ve grown a thriving community of over 55,000 young adults and we’ve partnered with major brands including Snapchat, Hinge, Canva, and Lush, and our campaigns have reached over 40 million people.

At our core, we believe that friendship shouldn’t feel out of reach and that social connection should be placed at the heart of how we build a more compassionate, connected society.

Alongside this, campaign for greater awareness around issues of youth loneliness to tackle the stigma, influence policy and bring about wide-scale social change.
