Who we are

The IWI is a pioneering and distinguished international non-governmental organisations (INGO) dedicated to advancing gender equality and combating human rights violations against women and girls, including gender-based violence. The IWI comprises experts committed to the principles and values of our organisation, facilitating swift analytic resources, mobilisation and efficient mission management in collaboration with the United Nations, intergovernmental organisations (IGOs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and governments.

Despite progress in various realms, violations of female human rights, gender inequality and gender-based violence, to name a few, persist as formidable challenges worldwide, thwarting social advancement and impeding sustainable development. The need for targeted interventions and expert support to comprehensively address these issues remains urgent. Recognising this imperative, The IWI has curated a diverse pool of professionals with specialised expertise to catalyse global change.

Our culture and values

At the core of the humanitarian endeavour lies the conviction that all people affected by disaster or conflict have the right to receive protection and assistance and live with dignity, especially women, females and girls. This belief springs from the principle of humanity – the idea that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. The experiences of crises and human rights violations endured by women and girls are unique from those of other members of the global population. Humanitarian action is also informed by the principle of impartiality, meaning that the response must be equitable to those in need.

We continue to evolve and innovate while keeping agility at the core of everything we do. We adapt to circumstances as they arise.
