About us
Who we are
The Launchpad Collective supports refugees to rebuild their lives through employment, a sense of belonging and increased confidence. Steered by people with lived experience, we create pathways to work, dignity and connection.
Far too often, people arrive in the UK with determination, skills, and hope - only to face systemic barriers that strip away dignity, waste talent, and deny them the opportunity to contribute. As one client shared:
“TLC provided a valuable volunteering opportunity. Volunteering gave value and meaning to my skills and knowledge. This led to full time paid work, which helped me gain a place at Sussex University to do a Masters. TLC’s opportunity influenced my career and personal life in ways I will always be grateful for.”
At The Launchpad Collective, we turn that story around. Guided by a team where 82% have lived the refugee experience, we provide tailored employability training, one-to-one mentoring, and direct employer engagement. The impact is profound: “When I came here, I had no confidence, no English, and no idea how life worked in the UK. Now I have all three - and a job that makes me proud.”
Many of our clients arrive with years of professional expertise - doctors, engineers, teachers, entrepreneurs - yet find themselves locked out of employment by language barriers, unrecognised qualifications, and employer bias. They are met not with opportunity, but with obstacles and silence.
At TLC, we walk alongside them as they reclaim agency, rebuild confidence, and step into spaces where their skills are valued and their voices heard. From the first CV workshop to the first job interview, every milestone is a step towards independence, dignity, and full inclusion.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The Launchpad Collective was built to be steered by those with direct experience of displacement. We don’t just advise employers - we are an employer, modelling the inclusive practices we champion. Our team leads by example, and some of our staff began their journeys as clients. This approach not only builds trust, but also shows what’s possible - creating a cycle of inspiration, leadership and impact.
