About us
Who we are
The New Normal (TNN) provides free to access peer support meetings for bereaved adults. We provide 25-30 completely free peer support meetings per month, in person and online, serving a diverse range of grief experiences, identities and communities. We train existing communities to hold space and help build compassionate communities through workplace training.
At TNN, we believe that mental health and grief support should be free and accessible to all people. We feel that one of the best forms of therapy is to talk to others with similar life experiences.
We want to interrupt the narrative: to change how we (don’t) talk about grief, to provide empathetic space, to build community and contribute to making bereavement support sustainable, impactful and work for those who need it most.
Our Vision is to create an empathic world, free from prejudice and shame, where everyone can speak honestly and openly about their mental well-being.
WORKING WITH US:
The New Normal is a small but impactful charity. We operate with a few paid staff and an amazing team of volunteers. All of our roles are remote-working and flexible, and we welcome applicants from all walks of life and experiences.
Due to the nature of the role and the work we do, successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check. Persons will be shortlisted and appointed based solely on character, skills, qualifications and experience.
