About us
Who we are
We are a fledgling non-profit focused on raising awareness about circularity and making a positive impact in our community.
The Remakery Oxford is a collaboration between artists, makers, and the local community with the objective of transforming the used, unloved, discarded and obsolete into art and function,
Through a community of makers and artists we run workshops, hold talks and other events in order to raise awareness about the power of waste as a resource, share skills and build a community of like-minded people built around an optimistic vision of the future with greater abundance, sustainability and equality.
We are an antidote to fast fashion, single use packaging, global shipping, raw material shortages, conflict minerals. All these place great strain on a planet with finite space and resources and on wealth distribution and wellbeing.
We are potentially on the brink of a material revolution that could help rebalance our relationship with the planet and society as a whole, which offers a more cyclical approach to materials, replacing extracted materials with waste and biomaterials. We are enabling a new wave of creators to disrupt the status quo of consumption and top-down mass production and globalisation.
We foster collaboration, experimentation, social innovation and education where anyone can curate art, function and fashion from local waste with minimal planetary impact.
It is a safe space to experiment, collaborate, fail, learn and grow together. To create something chaotic, disruptive, provocative, thought-provoking, inspiring.....
Ultimately we want to have a studio for those who lack the space and tools to work independently and offer them a place there in exchange for skills sharing in the community, challenging convention and shifting consciousness.
By offering access to tools, materials, and a community of like-minded makers we push the boundaries of what’s possible, transforming trash into solutions that challenge the linear economy, promoting circular design as the new norm.
So far we have run several successful workshops and events with an upcycling theme and are planning more.
Our culture and values
Our values
1. Disruption: We believe in upsetting business models and ideologies which are past their sell by date and being activist and agents for change. We inspire through chaos.
2. Collaboration: We are friendly, humble and community spirited. We learn and grow together
3. Open-mindedness: We do not judge. Change comes about through experimentation. There is no failure, only feedback.

5. Respect: We respect people and the planet. We do not waste resources. We value diversity and we believe firmly in fairness.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are 100% transparent and fair in all our activities and want to collaborate with people of all genders, races and ends of the socio-economic spectrum. We do not tolerate discrimination in any form.
