About us
Who we are
The Venture is an award winning adventure playground and community organisation in Wrexham. We believe that every child deserves space to play, feel safe, build confidence, and be themselves. Our team provides free open access play, youth work, family support, and community projects that improve wellbeing and create long lasting change. For more than forty years we have supported children, young people and families through a mixture of adventure play, trusted relationships, and practical help during difficult times.
We work closely with local partners, schools, and health services to ensure that no child or young person is left behind. Our focus is on creating opportunities, building resilience, and giving young people a real say in decisions that affect their lives.
Our culture and values
Our culture is warm, community focused, and deeply committed to young people. Staff describe The Venture as a place where you can be yourself, bring ideas to life, and feel part of something meaningful.
Our core values guide everything we do.
• Children and young people come first
• Inclusion and fairness for everyone
• Creativity and play as tools for learning and growth
• Respect for each other, our community, and the environment
• Honest communication and shared problem solving
• Working alongside families, not doing things to them
We believe that relationships create change, so our work is built on trust, compassion, and consistency
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
The Venture is committed to creating a workplace where every staff member feels valued and respected. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and work to ensure our recruitment, training, and daily practice reflect best practice in equality and inclusion.
Our services support children and young people from diverse communities, so we actively promote an environment that celebrates different experiences, cultures, and identities. We challenge discrimination, remove barriers wherever possible, and design our work so that everyone can take part fully.
We review our policies regularly and involve young people, staff, and trustees in shaping inclusive practice across the organisation.
