About us
Who we are
The Well Centre Charity exists to improve young people’s health by scaling a proven, youth friendly primary care model first created in Lambeth. The Well Centre model brings together GPs, mental health practitioners, counsellors, sexual health support, social prescribing and specialist Health and Wellbeing Practitioners in one accessible hub for young people aged roughly 11 to 20, delivering better wellbeing, improved access and reduced crisis use . As the national charity, we work with GP practices, Integrated Care Systems, CAMHS partners, schools and community organisations to co design and support local versions of the model that fit their context. Our mission is to reduce health inequalities and build a more joined up, youth friendly system of care across the country.
Our culture and values
We are a mission driven organisation built on collaboration, compassion and a strong commitment to reducing health inequalities for young people. Our culture is open, supportive and grounded in partnership working across primary care, mental health, youth work and the voluntary sector.
We value reflective practice, co production with young people, and evidence informed decision making. Safeguarding, integrity and respect shape everything we do. As a growing charity, we work flexibly, learn together and empower staff to contribute ideas, take initiative and help shape a national movement for better adolescent health.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We are a small, developing organisation building our systems and culture from the ground up, which means equality, diversity and inclusion are embedded at the foundation of how we work. Our model supports young people from many backgrounds, including those who experience discrimination or barriers to care, so we aim to reflect this diversity in our team and the decisions we make.
We are committed to fairness, transparency and respect across recruitment, progression and day to day working practices. We provide reasonable adjustments, challenge discrimination in all its forms, and regularly review our safeguarding and EDI commitments as we grow. As a learning organisation, we encourage staff to contribute ideas, highlight gaps and help us build an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
