Who we are

Wesport works to Inspire People, Empower Organisations, Create opportunities through Sport and Physical Activity. The West of England Sport Trust (Wesport) has been a Company Limited by Guarantee and registered charity since 2006. Wesport is also a member of the County Sport Partnership Network and is one of the 49 County Sport Partnerships across England established by Sport England to be the strategic lead for sport in the West of England. The West of England covers the Local Authority areas of Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset (BANES), North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. We work to connect providers of sport and physical activity such as National Governing Bodies (NGB’s), Local Authorities, Schools, Colleges, Universities, Business, Local Sports Clubs and Organisations to increase the quantity and quality of opportunities for the people of the West of England to take part in. Our Core Team works to develop coaching, clubs, volunteering, school sport and competition, and is a main deliverer of London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic legacy. Our team delivers a range of programmes that do this through our ‘Try it, Love it, Live it’ campaign.
