About us
Who we are
Together Co is a loneliness and social health charity, delivering local support and promoting social health; we have been doing that for 25 years. We offer a range of services including:
Befriending – one-to-one and group-based support to reduce isolation.
Social Prescribing – linking individuals to services, groups and activities that boost wellbeing.
Connection Hub – a single point of access offering tailored navigation and support.
Innovative Volunteer-led Programmes – including our Connection By Letter and Connector schemes, designed to be flexible, inclusive and community-driven.
Advocacy & Influence – amplifying the case for social health through campaigns, research, and partnerships.
We make a positive impact in our local community as well as highlighting about the importance of connection, nationally. You can learn more from our website: https://togetherco.org.uk/
Together Co was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that human connection matters. In every service we offer, every relationship we nurture, and every campaign we run, we are working to build a world where no one feels alone.

Our culture and values
Our values guide everything we do:
Kindness
Belonging
Integrity
Autonomy
Collaboration
These aren’t just words — they shape how we train volunteers, design services, build partnerships, and support our team. They were co-developed with our people, and are reviewed annually as part of our commitment to inclusive and values-led leadership.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At Together Co, equality, equity, diversity and inclusion are central to our purpose of creating a city where everyone feels they belong. These principles shape how we engage with each other and with our community, helping ensure our services are inclusive, co-produced, and equitable for all.
We recognise and value people’s differences and aim to ensure that our staff, trustees and volunteer teams are representative of our community, with a workplace that is inclusive and accessible to all.
Together Co, goes beyond the minimum obligations under equality legislation and demonstrates its commitment to treating people across Brighton & Hove equally and fairly, whatever their background.
Together Co has established a Belonging Working Group to support the development of an inclusive culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging, not pressure to ‘fit in’. This group:
- Brings together staff, volunteers, and trustees committed to EDI
- Provides lived-experience insight to inform strategy and priorities
- Serves as a listening channel between the wider workforce and leadership
- Supports education, awareness, and celebration of diversity
- Monitors progress and advises on inclusive policy and practice
