About us
Who we are
UP is the only UK charity dedicated solely to adults with cerebral palsy, founded by people with lived experience. UP exists to ensure adults with cerebral palsy have the opportunity to live well and thrive.
UP focuses on three core areas that together help build a fairer future for people growing up with cerebral palsy and those already navigating adulthood:
1. Building community
We create accessible spaces where people with CP connect across life stages. By reducing isolation early and sustaining support over time, we help people stay engaged in education, work and community life.
2. Advocacy
We challenge the system failures that block opportunity, particularly at transition points. Our campaigns focus on transition to adult services, access to preventative healthcare and support health and employment pathways that recognise CP as lifelong.
3. Growing clinical support
We work with clinicians and researchers to improve understanding of CP across the lifespan, building evidence and highlighting effective models of care.
Together, this allows us to support people now, while tackling the structural barriers that limit opportunity for the next generation.
