Who we are
Who We Are
Founded by lived experience, Walk N Talk is more than a charity – it’s a movement. Our team includes trained Mental Health First Aiders, peer leaders, and passionate volunteers, all united by a shared belief: that connection can change – and even save – lives.
We:
-
Host regular walk-and-talk events open to all.
-
Train volunteers to become mental health walk leaders.
-
Run creative campaigns and workshops to raise awareness and spark conversations around mental health, neurodiversity, and stigma.
-
Support individuals and workplaces to be more inclusive and mentally healthy through education and storytelling.
We’re growing fast – and we need passionate people who care about making a real difference.
Our culture and values
We live by the motto: “We walk beside, not in front of or behind.”
Our values guide everything we do:
-
Compassion – We lead with kindness, curiosity, and care.
-
Authenticity – We share openly and show up as our full selves.
-
Connection – We believe change happens through relationship and understanding.
-
Rebellion – We challenge stigma, shame and silence by speaking the truth.
-
Empowerment – We don’t “fix” people. We walk with them as they find their own path.
This isn’t just work – it’s a cause. And we do it together.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Walk N Talk 4 Mental Health is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and respectful environment where everyone feels seen, valued and heard.
We actively seek out and welcome differences in background, ability, identity and perspective – whether in our team, among our volunteers, or in the communities we serve.
We:
-
Are neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed.
-
Regularly review our policies and training to remove bias and promote accessibility.
-
Encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
-
Create roles that offer flexibility, support and dignity at work.
Fairness is not just a policy here – it’s a practice.
