About us
Who we are
Walking WIth The Wounded 'WWTW' is a leading military charity which recognises that those who serve, deserve.
Whether mentally wounded, socially or physically wounded, they deserve the care, support and means that they and their families need to function in society, serving in the communities in which they live, re-igniting their sense of purpose and making a positive contribution again.
Walking With The Wounded gets those who've served - and their families - back on their feet.
We do 3 things: employment, mental health and support care coordination which are saving jobs, homes, relationships and lives for the veterans who are struggling since leaving the military.
Our innovative partnerships with the NHS, supporting mental health teams across the UK; the creation of Project Nova with the Forces Employment CHarity to intercept veterans in police custody and reduce reoffending; and our own mental health capabilities enabling 121 therapy within days, are delivering significant, positive social impacts across the UK.
Our culture and values
Our key values: Client First, Collaboration, Respect, Empowerment and Integrity.
Our values are what makes us who we are, and we act with these values in mind in everything we do. It's important to us that this isn't just a list of words - our values are fundamental to our success and maintaining the trust that our beneficiries show in us. We refer to our values throughout the organisation, in discussions and when setting direction, and we believe the whole team is accountable for demonstrating them every day.
Our values don't just extend to how we treat each other at WWTW, but how we work with our beneficiaries and our key partners and sponsors.
Our team is what makes our organisation special; our dedicated and experienced people ensure we deliver our services and work with like-minded organisations. We provide a supportive and collaborative environment where people can enjoy doing great work and achieve their aspirations. We have lots of ways of doing this from regular 121s, surveys, forums and open doors to hear our staff voice; continually reviewing our benefits package; a focus on staff development; and creating an environment built on trust and respect
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We work hard every day, to ensure our organisation is welcoming to all - we see this as a continuous journey, and we understand we must always be looking for the next step to break down barriers and nurture an environment which feels safe and free from judgement for everybody. We ask all our teams to understand the part they play in creating an inclusive environment to work in, and to work with.
Our policies set out clearly what we ask of our team and what they can expect from us.
