About us

Who we are

Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS) is an international charity which champions animal welfare around the world, creating sustainable change.

WVS sends vets where they are needed most, provides expert veterinary training in hard-to-reach places, and ships urgent aid supplies worldwide, every day of the year. During 2025, WVS treated over 158,000 animals, trained over 4,300 veterinary professionals, and shipped more than 1,700 medical aid parcels. WVS runs its own projects, from neutering campaigns in Malawi to equine clinics in India, and trains local and international vets at its centres in India, Africa, Thailand, and South America.

In 2013, WVS launched the Mission Rabies project with the aim to eliminate canine-mediated human rabies deaths. Following World Health Organization guidelines, Mission Rabies runs mass canine vaccination and community education in the world’s worst hotspots for the disease. Since the project began, over seven million dogs have been vaccinated against rabies and over nine million children have been educated in rabies prevention, protecting the lives of people and animals.
