Our culture and values
YBRP is built on a strengths-based approach, trauma informed practice believing every young person has a “seam of gold” — unique potential waiting to shine. Our work is guided by values of sensitivity, integrity, and reliability, and we emphasise listening and learning from young people to tailor their support effectively
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
1. Lived Experience at the Heart
YBRP designs its programmes by listening to young people’s lived experiences, especially those facing poverty, exploitation, low educational attainment, and marginalisation. This ensures that support is tailored, relevant, and empowering
2. Youth Leadership & Voice
Their Future Leaders and Decision Makers initiative trains young people — including those who are neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, or from disadvantaged backgrounds — in leadership, advocacy, and policy-making. The goal is to amplify youth voices in governance and create a blueprint for inclusive decision-making
Neurodiversity & Individual Strengths
YBRP embraces a strengths-based approach, celebrating each young person’s individuality. They provide safe, compassionate spaces where neurodiverse individuals can thrive without judgment, and where learning is adapted to personal strengths
Understanding Privilege & Equity
Workshops and mentoring include education around privilege, systemic inequality, and social justice, helping young people understand their context and advocate for change. This is embedded in their leadership training and community engagement efforts
Guaranteed Interviews for Armed Forces Families
YBRP offers guaranteed interviews for individuals from Armed Forces families, recognising the unique challenges they face and ensuring equitable access to opportunities. This is part of their commitment to inclusive recruitment and support
Philosophy in Practice
Our CEO, Siobhan, describes the mission as helping young people “find their seam of gold” — a metaphor for uncovering hidden potential. This philosophy drives their compassionate, responsive, and empowering environment, where sensitivity, integrity, and reliability are core values
