About us
Who we are
Youth Enquiry Service (YES) is a charity that has supported young people in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas since 1982.
We offer free, easy-to-access, early-intervention mental health and wellbeing support, and believe that all young people should have access to the mental health support they need, whenever they need it.
Our culture and values
YES believes that all young people should have access to the mental health support they need, whenever they need it.
To enable this, we provide a range of early-intervention mental health support and wellbeing services for young people. All of our services are free and easy to access, and are open to any young people living, working, or studying, in High Wycombe and the surrounding areas.
We strive to consistently deliver services which are:
- Non-judgemental, supportive and empowering
- Professional, independent and confidential
- Inclusive and accessible
All of our Trustees are passionate about improving access to quality mental health support for young people. They meet on a monthly basis to review reports submitted by the management team and discuss ongoing operations and future strategy of the organisation. They ensure that the charity complies with its governing document and charity law, as well as being financially viable.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
YES is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and to providing a safe, respectful environment free from discrimination, harassment, bullying and victimisation. This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, freelancers, contractors and Trustees and is informed by the Equality Act 2010. YES will not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics, including age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy or maternity, or marriage and civil partnership. All individuals are expected to act in line with the Code of Conduct, treat others with dignity and respect, and raise concerns about inappropriate behaviour, while managers and Trustees are responsible for promoting inclusive practice and addressing concerns promptly and fairly. Breaches will be managed in accordance with the Code of Conduct and relevant procedures, with protection from victimisation for those raising concerns in good faith.
