About us
Who we are
YouthBuild Ventures UK (YBVUK) works alongside young people who are furthest from opportunity, supporting them to build the confidence, skills and belief they need to shape their own futures. Our work is trauma-informed, relational and rooted in community, combining vocational training, leadership development, wellbeing support and hands-on activity.
We are part of the global YouthBuild movement, while shaping our work to reflect the needs of young people and communities in the UK.
Our culture and values
Our culture is rooted in love, respect and belief in young people’s potential. We create spaces where people feel seen, heard and valued, and where high expectations are matched with genuine care.
Our work is shaped by five core values:
-
Love – We welcome every individual with open hearts and open minds.
-
Accountability – We act with integrity, take responsibility, and treat ourselves and others with respect.
-
Collaboration – We work together to achieve shared goals and contribute to a supportive, purpose-led community.
-
Diversity – We draw strength, insight and inspiration from different lived experiences and perspectives.
-
Leadership – We believe everyone has the potential to lead. We take responsibility for our own growth and help others recognise theirs.
Together, these values shape how we show up — with young people, with each other, and with our partners — as we build brighter futures together.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Eequality, diversity and inclusion are not add-ons — they are central to who we are. We believe young people and colleagues should be recognised for their strengths, potential and lived experience, not defined by labels or barriers.
We are proud to have a team that reflects the diversity, cultures and lived experiences of the young people and communities we serve. Representation matters. It strengthens trust, deepens understanding, and helps us create spaces where young people feel seen and understood.
We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, respected and able to thrive. We actively oppose discrimination in all its forms and take a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, bullying or unfair treatment.
Our approach includes:
-
Fair and transparent recruitment and progression processes
-
A commitment to inclusive language and trauma-informed practice
-
Ongoing reflection and learning as a team
-
Creating space for different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences
-
Making reasonable adjustments wherever needed
We draw strength from diversity and recognise that inclusive teams are stronger, more creative and more effective. We hold ourselves accountable for building a culture where equity is embedded in everyday decisions — not just written in policy.
