What is Action Against Hunger’s mission? Action Against Hunger’s mission is to save lives, especially those of malnourished children, and to work with vulnerable populations to preserve and restore their livelihoods with dignity. ABOUT ACTION AGAINST HUNGER Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an international humanitarian organisation committed to saving the lives of malnourished children and working with vulnerable populations to preserve and restore their livelihoods with dignity. Our teams do their utmost day after day to ensure that people are given access to the most basic of human rights - the right to food. One of the leading organisations in the fight against hunger and malnutrition worldwide, Action Against Hunger’s teams provide for people’s immediate needs when food is scarce, and provide families with the tools, seeds and support they need to build a sustainable future. From crisis to sustainability, Action Against Hunger tackles the underlying causes of malnutrition and its effects by using its expertise in nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health and advocacy in some 43 countries worldwide. The organisation was created in 1979 and has since developed within the framework of an international network (ACF International Network) with headquarters in France, Spain, Canada, the UK and the US. In carrying out our activities, all members adhere to a charter of principles that form the foundation of our humanitarian commitment: independence, impartiality, non-discrimination, free and direct access, professionalism and transparency. Action Against Hunger UK is a registered charity (no. 1047501) and a signatory of the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and Non-Governmental Organisations in Disaster Relief.
