Action Foundation

Who we are

Action Foundation is an award-winning charity based in Newcastle upon Tyne providing support to disadvantaged refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants across the North East to overcome immediate barriers, integrate with the community, and build skills for the future.  

Through our supported housing projects, case work and multi-agency drop-in service, and English language school, we enable vulnerable migrants to:  

• avoid homelessness and extreme poverty  

• access vital services  

• increase their skills and employability  

• access legal support  

• integrate and live independently.  

Action Foundation is a non-religious organisation, but one firmly rooted in and inspired by the Christian story. Our services, staff and voluntary roles are open and available to people of all or no faiths. Action Foundation is also a charity and a company limited by guarantee.   

The charity currently delivers its services from premises in Newcastle and Sunderland. However, we also deliver contracts and support other organisations providing similar services throughout the Tyne and Wear region. Having been established for over 15 years the charity has grown to support over 1,700 people a year with over 200 volunteers, 24 staff and a turnover in excess of one million.
