Who we are

Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) is an independent registered charity working to promote independent living to over-50s in the county. We provide a range of services to facilitate respite for carers including support,  information and access to day care via our community buses to enable people to remain independent for as long as possible.

Our vision is that getting older should be a positive experience where everyone is respected, valued and able to make informed choices.

As an organisation we pride ourselves on our incredible team of caring, compassionate/ skilled volunteers and staff that install trust in carers to allow for respite. Over 90% of clients we support are living with progressive conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia that can be detrimental to a person’s independence and ability to cope with daily tasks. Age Concern Hampshire provide activities and services at all of our care and Wellbeing Centres across the county to ensure our clients remain as active and engaged as possible.

Our mission is to assist older people to increase their independence, knowledge, income, wellbeing and sense of purpose.

We will do this by -

• Providing access to a range of services to support the needs identified by older people within Hampshire
• Ensuring that appropriate information and advice is available, and
• Providing a caring and supportive community to ensure older people, their carers and families achieve a better quality of life.

Our organisation has been providing services to the older community of Hampshire since 1985. The charity currently deliver Day Care at 11 Care & Wellbeing centres throughout the county, as well as Information Services, Foot care clinics, Hospital to Home Services, Village Agents and a variety of other activities. We employ around 150 staff and have over 300 volunteers who come from all walks of life to offer friendship, support and information to our service users.
