About us
Who we are
Our mission is to transform local food systems across the UK, making good food accessible and affordable for everyone, where they live.
We do this through our pioneering Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg projects. People collect Rose Vouchers from trusted community organisations, which they spend on their choice of fresh fruit & veg at a local market or other independent healthy food business. Rose Vouchers remove the barriers of affordability and accessibility, ensuring that people who have been constrained by what is cheap are free to choose healthier options.
Our approach is practical and place-based, and we currently deliver Rose Voucher projects in six London Boroughs, Barnsley, Liverpool and Glasgow. We look at the whole food system and the real lives of the communities we serve, including the geography, the businesses and the services that are unique to that area. We work on the ground with brilliant local partners such as children’s centres and community support organisations, to ensure that Rose Vouchers connect people with the broadest possible range of support on things like benefits, housing, language barriers, healthcare and more. Working this way ensures dignity and choice are central to everything we do.
Alongside this place-based work, we campaign for wider lasting changes. Our advocacy is rooted in the real lives of the communities we serve. We create space for the voices of people with lived experience of food insecurity, financial challenges and exclusion, with respect and in solidarity. Our advocacy builds the bridge between practical action and systems change.
