About us
Who we are
We are one of the UK’s biggest charities and we care for 2,000 miles of canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs because we believe life is better by water.
Along with our waterways we also manage museums, archives and the country’s third largest collection of historic buildings. These all enable us to offer wellbeing opportunities to millions of people each year.
Supporting this varied community who live, work and play on our canals means that we need an incredibly varied workforce. From engineers to ecologists, museum attendants to marketers, hundreds of people work at the Trust, all striving to make sure life is always better by the water.

We care about our people and we recognise that our diverse teams have different personal needs from work. For that reason, we offer core benefits to our employees and a number of additional benefits which people may opt to take advantage of.
