Who we are

Christchurch Angels was first established over 10 years ago after it became evident that there were numerous people who were experiencing loneliness and social isolation, a high percentage presenting to GP services with non-clinical needs.  This is now particularly evident in the post Covid recovery period, where many isolated people are apprehensive about venturing out again, have lost confidence through long periods of isolation, or through suffering a bereavement. Around the same time as Christchurch Angels was formed it was also noted that there was a section of the community, mainly (but not exclusively) elderly, who were struggling to access public transport and were finding it difficult to shop or attend medical/dental/legal appointments leading to the Dial a Bus and Neighbour Car schemes being created, both services are well used and provide essential support to the community.
