About Feedback

Feedback is an environmental campaign group that regenerates nature by transforming our food system. To do this we challenge power, catalyse action and empower people to achieve positive change. We believe that securing nutritious, delicious food for all should go hand in hand with safeguarding our environment. The problem is that both producing and selling food have been captured by big business with terrible consequences for our health and our planet. Food production is the single greatest impact humans have on the environment. It is a huge driver of climate change; for example, meat and dairy alone generate more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire global transport sector. Agriculture drives deforestation, drains fresh water reserves, depletes soils and contributing to species extinction at an alarming rate. Yet we waste around a third of all food produced every year, squandering precious resources on food that is never eaten. Feedback is part of a fast-growing movement that is helping people seize back control of our food production and diets. We are piloting real alternatives to our current food system, and we campaign to call out big business where we need to, and push governments to make positive changes. Join us and be part of the solution!

We are achieving the change we want to see in the world through three areas of work:

Policy and campaigns: Based on our research, investigations and expertise, we critique the problems with our current food system and offer advice on how to shift to a better one. We work on corporate practices and government policies, and build coalitions with other civil society groups. Through our campaigns we mobilise activists to apply pressure and call for solutions.

Building movements: People are at the heart of the food system, and we work to support everyone to make the shift from food consumers to engaged food citizens. We offer delicious and celebratory opportunities for the public to taste the future of food at our unique events. We are proud of our ability to reach people from all walks of life, including those who are coming to environmental and food system issues for the first time.

Piloting new ideas: Finally, when solutions cannot be achieved with changes to the current food system, we enact new ideas through piloting real alternatives which demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of a new food economy. Through volunteering opportunities, training and the development of toolkits, we enable the replication and upscaling of our pilots by citizens, civil society groups and municipalities across the UK and the world.
