About us
Who we are
When you join the GFS team, you’ll become part of a significant history. For 150 years, GFS has been working to create a world where all girls and young women can thrive, are free to be themselves and are proud of who they are.
Today, we do this by providing single gender, non-competitive after school groups where every girl is valued individually. These groups allow them to build and consolidate the foundations that will prepare them for life’s challenges.
Unlike many organisations, we work with girls from a young age, seeking to prevent the degradation in confidence and self-esteem that comes with around age 11, rather than reversing it during the teenage years.
GFS is an ambitious organisation, with plans for growth, and a commitment to hearing girls voices in everything we do and we primarily work with girls in the parts of England and Wales where they face the greatest disadvantage.
Our team is passionate about achieving a more equal society, and we apply that ethos to our staff just as much as our girls and volunteers. We are committed to supporting people to be the best they can be, and this includes opportunities for training and development, job share and flexible working, as well as being part of a mutually collaborative forward-thinking team.
In addition to working in a team that is committed to improving the lives of girls and young women, while at GFS, you will benefit from:
- 25 days annual leave (pro rata)
- Long service leave after two years
- GFS Pension Scheme
- Flexible working options, including hybrid working and compressed hours
- 24 hr Access to Employee Assistance Programme
- Season ticket loan
- Bi-Annual EDI Learning Days
