About us
Who we are
Across Cambridgeshire around 10 people a day are admitted to hospital with a brain injury from a traumatic event (an accident, assault, sporting injury or fall) or a serious illness such as brain cancer, stroke or infection. On leaving hospital many find it hard to get the long term rehabilitation and support they need. This is where Headway Cambridgeshire can help, we've been supporting people living with a brain injury and other neurological conditions since 1989.
Our mission is to help clients to live as independently as possible and to achieve their full potential. Brain injury affects everyone differently; whilst some require only light touch interventions, many of our clients have complex disabilities. We tailor our support to meet their individual circumstances and aspirations, and we are also there with help and advice for their families and carers.
Our clients are the focus of everything we do. Like with most charities, life is challenging at times but our clients, our brilliant professional staff and volunteers make Headway Cambridgeshire a unique, collaborative and inspirational place to work, rewarded by the knowledge that we are making such a big difference to people's lives.
