About us
Who we are
Hillingdon Women’s Centre (HWC) is a women-only space that offers support and advice to our service users in Hillingdon and the surrounding boroughs aged 18+. We offer our services to all women from diverse backgrounds who seek support on a range of issues, with recovery from domestic abuse being the most commonly reported need.
Our vision is for a world where all women can lead safe, independent, and thriving lives.
Our mission is to provide a confidential, safe, and welcoming space for all women in Hillingdon and surrounding areas. We are a place where women can access information, tools and holistic support. We are run by women, for women, and will collaborate with other agencies in the community.
Our culture and values
At Hillingdon Women’s Centre, we are committed to creating a supportive, respectful and inclusive environment where women can feel safe, be heard and thrive. We treat everyone with dignity, kindness and respect, and approach our work with compassion, empathy and integrity. We recognise that every woman’s circumstances and lived experience are different, and provide trauma-informed support that respects women’s choices, rights and individual needs.
We are a women-led organisation grounded in feminist principles, committed to equality, social justice and fairness. We work collaboratively, both within HWC and with external organisations and community partners, because we know that meaningful change is achieved together. Our values guide how we work with the women we support, our colleagues and our wider community.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Hillingdon Women’s Centre (HWC) offers a welcoming and supportive space in the local community that celebrates cultural and social diversity and is accessible to all women. We are led by and for women and are dedicated to providing an inclusive, uplifting environment where women can thrive.
We have taken proactive measures to ensure that all staff, volunteers, service users and trustees can access a safe, respectful and caring space, free from discrimination and harassment.
HWC is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and values the different backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences that people bring to our organisation.
As a women-only organisation, our roles are open to women only. We welcome applications from women of all backgrounds, identities and lived experiences.
