Who we are
icap is a registered charity which provides accessible, culturally-sensitive counselling and psychotherapy to Irish people, people of Irish descent, and those from other backgrounds.
icap was founded in 1996 to address the mental health needs of the Irish in Britain, and over the years we have developed a particular expertise in helping people with issues relating to their migration. Our therapists are highly experienced, and all are accredited by the BACP or UKCP. Many of them specialise in working with survivors of institutional abuse as children in Ireland.
icap has therapy centres in North London and Birmingham, and a nationwide network of therapists and partner organisations. Last year, we delivered around 8,000 hours of therapy to clients across the country. We also offer clinical supervision services to frontline workers who need support in tackling professional challenges.
