Our mission:
We support sport for development programmes which enhance the social and emotional development of children and young people in disadvantaged communities, reduce the impact of violence, conflict and discrimination in their lives, inspire healthy behaviour change and increase their educational achievements and employability skills.
We strengthen the sport for development sector through impact measurement, research and knowledge-sharing.
We highlight serious social issues faced by children and young people and we unlock greater resources for the sector through effective advocacy and communications.
Our journey:
With Nelson Mandela as our founding patron, Laureus Sport for Good has spent many years developing a network of grantee partners and a worldwide charitable infrastructure. We have in this time developed a depth of understanding and a corresponding credibility in this field and are recognised as a leading organisation in the sport for development community.
Today, Laureus Sport for Good supports over 200 programmes in around 40 countries. Our work is championed by an Academy of over 60 globally recognised legends of sport and over 150 other leading sporting ambassadors, and is celebrated annually in the Laureus World Sports Awards.
