The League is a charity that brings together people who want to stop cruelty to animals in the name of sport. Established in 1924, we successfully use lawful investigations, campaigning and lobbying to make a difference in the UK and around the world. We are a registered charity and now raise in excess of £2m a year to campaign to protect animals. The organisation was started by a group of people who, 90 years ago, wanted to make a difference for animals. The people that make up the League today are still committed to that very purpose. If you are one of those people, then you are already a League supporter. We represent people who want to stop cruel sports for good, and see an end to animal suffering for sport and activities related to it, such as snaring. As a campaigning organisation, we have strived to protect animals for 90 years, and have had many successes. We also have had disappointments, which are only to be expected for a committed and passionate group of people who want to see change faster than it often comes. We do not let that deter us, as we know that a civilised society does not want to partake in cruel sports, and that in 100 years many of the issues we campaign on now will be consigned to the history books.
