Who we are
London Friend works to imporve the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBTQ+) people. We're the UK's oldest LGBTQ+ charity established in 1972.
The organisation began with LGBTQ+ coming together to support their own communities, and this remains at the heart of what we do today. Our work is delivered mainly by LGBTQ+ volunteers supported by a small staff team. Collectively our volunteers were awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2016.
Our services include support, social and activity groups; an LGBTQ+ counselling service, incouding specialist LGBTQ+ domestic abuse counselling; sexual health; HIV prevention and support; and Antidote, our LGBTQ+ drug and alcohol service.
