About us
Who we are
Pancreatic Cancer Action is a registered charity in England & Wales (1137689). And Pancreatic Cancer Action Scotland is a registered charity in Scotland (SC049777). Our small but ambitious team is headed up by our Chief Executive & Founder Ali Stunt, a rare survivor of the disease. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are governed by a Board of trustees that brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing direction for the organisation.
Pancreatic cancer has only a seven per cent survival rate, with around 28 people newly diagnosed every day in the UK. And this figure has not improved significantly for over 40 years. Despite being the fifth biggest cancer killer in the UK, pancreatic cancer receives less than three per cent of overall research funding.
Pancreatic Cancer Action are determined to change the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer and make the 2020’s the decade of change. With a strong focus on early diagnosis, our vital work educates the public and health care professionals about the signs and symptoms of pancreatic cancer to encourage early diagnosis and a better chance of survival.
We are an ACTION charity and we're dedicated to increasing survival rates through awareness, medical education, improved patient information, lobbying and campaigning and funding research into pancreatic cancer.
Footnote: Pancreatic Cancer Action can also be referred to as PCA and PanAct.
