About us
Who we are
The Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) is an educational charity whose vision is to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. Our strategy is to provide funding and support for award-winning primary science teachers through the Primary Science Teacher College, support groups of schools working together through the Cluster Programme and support research and innovation through our partner organisations. We also support teachers in non-Fellow schools through our Regional Mentor Programme and develop resources and provide conferences for primary teachers. There is much evidence showing that children’s interest in science is shaped before they leave primary school. Science taught in primary schools is of vital importance to individuals and the nation’s well-being, while not all children will follow a career in science or related disciplines when they leave the school system, science literacy will influence their lives daily (e.g. managing their health or understanding issues such as climate change).
