About us

Who we are

The RSPCA Isle of Wight branch is a separately registered, island based charity and is one of 164 charities that support the local work of the RSPCA.  Originally established in the 1950's we are proud to support the work of the RSPCA Inspectorate group, supporting the islands most vulnerable animals.  As an independently registered charity, we rely on the generosity of our community donations and all monies raised on the island, remain on the island, to support abandoned, abused and orphaned domestic, farm and wild animals in our care.

To help support our busy animal centre team of staff and volunteers we recently opened our brand-new reception centre situated between Godshill and Rookley at the junction of Merstone Lane on the A3054.

We provide care and assistance to the animals on the island that require our help. We also promote responsible animal ownership through local education campaigns.

Our branch is run by an elected group of volunteers which make up our committee and we are responsible for raising money to support our animal welfare work.  This is done through our charity shops, fundraising events, legacies and donations.
