Who we are

Small Green Shoots believes all young people regardless of their background deserve an equal chance to excel in life and realise their full potential. 

Everyone should have access to high quality opportunities in the creative industries that helps them fulfil their amibitions, not to mention have a right to feel confident, highly skilled and empowered to discover and follow their interests, set and achieve their own goals and forge new pathways into the education or career that inspires them most. 

Small Green Shoots is a unique, black-led charity set up in 2009 with the aim of giving young people from disadvantages backgrounds an opportunity to engage with music and the arts and to use these experiences as a springboard for their future. 

For over a decade Small Green Shoots has been doing work that benefits young people from low income families, who are predominantly from back and ethnic minority backgrounds.
