Who we are
Theatre Troupe was founded in Southwark, South London in 2015 to change the lives of children and young people aged 9 to 19 with acute and complex mental health problems through the radical nature of participatory theatre.
Our evidence based ‘theatre family’ model of practice brings together participants, volunteer mentors, theatre practitioners and visual art therapists in creative workshop programmes that are joyful, friendly and safe, and which significantly reduce participants’ mental distress.
Theatre Troupe programmes take place weekly over the course of up to one year with small groups of children and young people between the ages of 9 and 19.
