This is a really exciting time to be joining Thirtyone:eight (formerly CCPAS). We have seen significant growth in recent years and we have just embarked upon an ambitious restructure of the charity to ensure we are fit for the future and ready to take our contribution to safeguarding into a new chapter.
Thirtyone:eight is the only independent Christian charity providing professional advice, support, helpline, training and resources in all areas of safeguarding children, vulnerable adults and for those affected by abuse. We exist to safeguard both children and vulnerable adults throughout the UK. We also work to help those who are, or have been, affected by child abuse and similar issues.
Our services are used not only by churches and groups across the denominational spectrum, but increasingly by other faiths as well as non-faith based organisations keen to utilise the resources and expertise we offer. We also give advice to Children's Services Departments, Adult Social Services, Police and other agencies across the UK. We are a partner agency with CEOP, and work closely with all statutory and third sector organisations involved in safeguarding.
Our vision is a world where every child and adult can feel, and be, safe.
To achieve our vision:
We will equip society with the knowledge and skills to create safer environments for children and adults at risk.
We will empower society to respond appropriately to those who are vulnerable or have experienced abuse.
We will encourage society to stand against oppression and exploitation by informing legislation and striving to raise the standards in safeguarding practice.
